Creating a new map in your Maptive account is easy! Just follow the following simple directions, and you'll be mapping in no time:
Step 1: Sign into your Maptive account.
Step 2: Click 'Create New Map' to get started.
After logging in, you will be brought to the homepage dashboard. All maps created earlier are listed here along with one-click access to main features under 'Actions'. Click 'Create New Map' to get started.
Step 3: Name your new map and click the Continue button.
After completing step 2, the 'Create New Map' window will pop up and you will be asked to provide some necessary information that we'll need in order to help you create your map. Start by naming your map and writing a brief description (optional). Then hit the 'Continue' button.
Step 4: Upload your data.
Now you're ready to upload your data into Maptive. To do so, you have a few options. You can copy/paste, drag & drop your existing Excel file, or click 'Select File' to upload a document from your computer. Note that your data needs to include header columns (such as Address, City, Zip code, Name, Phone Number, etc.) that tell Maptive what the data is. After you've uploaded your data, click the 'Map Now' button.
Step 5: Match up as much location-specific data as possible.
After you upload your data, you'll be asked to match up to any relevant location information that you included in your data document. Match 'City' to 'City' or 'City' to 'town', for example. This will help Google Maps pinpoint your locations accurately. When you've matched up to your data, click 'Done' to create your map.
Step 6: View and customize your map.
It will take a few seconds for your map to be created. Once it's ready, you'll be able to view, interact with, and customize your map. Click on map markers or the tool bar in the left menu pane to access Maptive's customization and analytics tools.

Map Settings includes a number of map features that can be turned on or off. Options include changing the map base layers and functions, selecting other map markers, or setting the default opening view of the map and zoom level, for example. Any data deemed private can be hidden from the map marker bubbles for ease of mind before sharing the map internally or publishing it to the web.
Step 9: Share your map.
You can share your map with other individuals and optionally require a password or publish your map publicly to the web. Maps can quickly be embedded within a webpage or blog using one given line of simple HTML code. You can ensure a perfect fit of the map within your page by changing the height and width values.
